ASUU to Embark on One Week Nationwide Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared a one week warning strike to press home its demands to the federal government.

ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, told journalists in Abuja that the strike became necessary given government’s inability to address several demands and agreements it reached with the body.

According to him, government’s failure to adhere to, and implement the 2009 agreement prompted the body to ask its members nationwide to embark on a one-week warning strike from Wednesday, 16th November, 2016 to protest against government’s action.

ASUU also accused the government of turning the establishment of universities into constituency projects to score cheap political points, an approach the union is vehemently opposed to.

Speaking to journalists at the end of its emergency National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, ASUU National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, stressed that despite several efforts by the union to get the government to respect their agreement, the government has failed to see reason with it.

He said this has created anxiety among the nation’s academic community.

ASUU enumerated areas of disagreement between the union and government to include payment of a fraction to staff entitlements and the denial of staff entitlements in respect of earned academic allowance amounting to about N128 billion.

He also listed lack of funding of universities for revitalization and the refusal to register the Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company by the Pension Commission.

Other grouses of the union include the introduction of the Treasury Single Account which it said is affecting university autonomy, decrease in budgetary allocation to education and the refusal by government to renegotiate the 2009 agreement which was due for renegotiation since 2012.

Kemi Olunloyo threatens to wreck Linda Ikeji Social Media over alleged Impersonation

Popular journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has always been at loggerheads with  Linda Ikeji  and their eternal war seems to have a re-launch with Kemi Olunloyo threatening to bring down her social media server for alleged impersonation today, 8th November of 2016.

The controversial had a lot to say in an Instagram rant earlier today as we await a response from Linda Ikeji. Below was what she had to pour out,

hnnafrica #HNNTech #Cyberwarningto@officiallindaikeji : As my fans and haters requested, I have registered on LIS just to see the FLAWS. Y’all can make a friend request. Already @officiallindaikejiYOU HAVE LET SOMEONE HIJACK MY BIZ EMAIL AND IMPERSONATE ME! Facebook is NOT your competition as you told @cnn!! Facebook has community standards where they will delete a fake or IMPERSONATING account. I went thru a lot of that and got verified later. Where is your red checkmark like @Pinterest? I am demanding your tech ppl contact me athnnafricanews@live.com to retrieve my main business email plus delete that fake account. Are you ready for this? Did LIS prepare for impersonators? It’s not in their terms and conditions but you are running an email PONZI scheme. I could not register my OWN emailLinda! If this is not done in 48 hours, there will be#CYBERWAR Linda. Imagine someone using your gmail account to open or subscribe to so many things. On a good SM platform you will end up deleting the confirmation emails. THE WORST PART OF THIS IS THAT I DID NOT GET THE ACTIVATION EMAIL. A MAJOR FLAW WITH YOUR SOCIAL PLATFORM.
Is this where u want people to enter their banking information???
I am the same Linux expert that hacked Nairaland’s cloudflare with a US court order in 2013. Many people lost their information. Details under Notes at Facebook.com/hnnafrica. Make it quick and snappy Linda! I will have to break into your server if my biz email is not removed promptly. Someone has used my email on Linda Ikeji Social and I ain’t having it. Your fans keep saying I’m trying to bring you down. No, I’mskooooling u. However I plan to bring your server DOWN if action is not taken. I’m blowing HOT right now and will inform all media outlets ASAP. Start verifying accounts like Facebook. But of course thats alien to u as u are not verified on FB or Twitter. There is only one Linda Ikeji and there is one KOO. Don’t allow anyone to IMPERSONATE me. Ive been online since 1989 on AOL’s Control Video and a pioneer in this SM game. It was my 100,000 followers on MySpace that made Andrew McColumn contact me 2004 as a FB Beta tester. Google him. ENOUGH
