ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT Phyno releases sophomore album “The play maker”

Nigerian indigenous rapper, Azubuike Chibuzo Nelson, otherwise known as Phyno, has finally released his long-awaited sophomore album, ”The Playmaker” today, the 4th of November 2016.

The rapper’s debut album, ”no guts no glory” was released in 2014, the album received positive commendations from fans and critics alike.

The album ”playmaker” is a 20 track album which features artistes such as the legendary Onyeka Owenu, 2Face Idibia, Psquare, Burna Boy, Olamide, Flavour, among other guest artistes.

E Sure For Me’, ‘Pino Pino’ and ‘Fada Fada’ are some of the already popular songs that made the 20-track album.

In the world of Nigerian indigenous rap, phyno has carved out a permanent niche for himself. He has definitely outdone his predecessors, Phyno has set a newer standard for indigenous rap in Nigeria. His previous album was obviously just him warming up as his new album has shown that Phyno is capable of a whole lot more than we expected.

The swashbuckling lyricist presents a two-part album which unites his love for highlife and hip hop, with life stories about women, aspirations, introspection, and sounds. Both halves are intertwined with each other, forming a sonically complete body of work.
