Illbliss took to Twitter early Tuesday morning to announce that him and his manager were accosted by SARS officials who made them lie on the floor, with guns to their heads while they searched them for drugs.

NiMet predicts cloudy weather, thunderstorms for Friday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted prospects of thunderstorms and moderate rains over the Central States such as Minna, Abuja, Jos, Lafia, Kaduna, Bauchi, Gombe, Jalingo and Lokoja on Friday morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 26 to 33 and 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
It added that there are also chances of thunderstorms over places like Makurdi, Abuja, Mambilla Plateau, Jos, Yola, Ilorin and Ibi in the evening and night hours.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience morning cloudiness with prospects of light rains over the coastal cities such as Ikom, Calabar, Ijebu Ode, Lagos and few cities around the South-West.

It also predicted thunderstorms and moderate rains over Osogbo, Akure, Ado Ekiti, Benin, Asaba, Abakaliki, Enugu and Owerri including the coastal cities like Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Lagos and Ijebu Ode respectively.
NiMet further predicted that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 32 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience cloudy to partly cloudy situation with chances of thunderstorms over Sokoto, Gusau and Kebbi during the morning hours.
“Northern States will also experience day and night temperatures in the ranges of 32 to 36 and 22 to 24 respectively.
“Cloudy to partly cloudy condition is expected with prospects of thunderstorms and rains with varying intensities over the Country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

Nine die, 54 vehicles burnt in Lagos tanker fire

Four injured

At least nine people on Thursday died, four injured and 54 vehicles razed after a petrol tanker fell on the Otedola Bridge in Berger, Lagos.
The incident which occurred around 5pm, caused serious traffic snarl in and out of the state.
It was gathered that emergency workers had a tough time accessing the scene as a result of the traffic and crowd.
It was gathered that the tanker, laden with Premium Motor Spirit, had fallen while ascending the bridge outward Lagos.
 
According to witnesses, the tanker spilled its content backwards, prompting most of the occupants of the vehicles behind it to flee to safety.
However, the nine dead persons were caught up in the inferno, as the positions of their bodies showed they were also trying to run away.
According to the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA)  Adesina Tiamiyu, two of the injured persons were in critical condition.
He said: “A tanker exiting Lagos lost control while climbing the Otedola Bridge and spilled its content backwards. This caused a fire outbreak and 54 vehicles were affected.
“Nine bodies were recovered and four injured people. Two of the injured were in critical condition. They have all been moved to the hospital.
“We are removing the burnt vehicles from the road in order to ease traffic congestion. We advice people travelling to Ibadan or outside Lagos to use alternative routes.”
 
Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Tunji Disu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police  (ACP) told our Correspondent that they had rough time controlling the crowd, appealing to residents to stop overcrowding disaster

Davido and Tiwa Savage have been nominated in the BET Awards 2018

Davido and Tiwa Savage have been nominated in the BET Awards 2018 International Act category according to the nominees' list that was made public Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

The 2018 BET Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 25, 2018, at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, United States.

The organizers have rolled out the list of nominations for the respective categories and the one that sticks out is the category for Best International Act, Music which sees Nigeria's superstars Davido and Tiwa Savage listed among the nominees that features a strong line-up of artists across the world.

It will be recalled that Davido who was recently crowned artist of the year at The Headies 2018 had won the award in 2014 which also had Tiwa Savage amongst the nominees, and was also nominated in the same category last year but he lost out to his fellow statesman, Wizkid.
