More Nigerians Deported From South Africa, Arrive In Lagos
97 Nigerians have been deported from South Africa for committing various offences in the country. The deportees landed at the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport, Lagos on Monday night in a chartered aircraft from Johannesburg.
Confirming the report, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command explained that they were made up of 95 males and two females.
An immigration source who spoke on condition of anonymity said 6 of the deportees were returned to the country for drug offences while 10 were arrested and deported for other criminal offences.
The others were said to have committed immigration offences in the Southern African country.
NAN reports that the deportees were profiled by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service while those deported for drug-related offences were handed over to Police for further investigation.

A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his elderly mother to death.
Oluwaseye Ayoola, a 51-year-old unemployed man reportedly engaged his mother, 81-year-old Dorcas Ayoola in a serious fight yesterday Wednesday the 8th of February 2017 after she refused to give out the N500,000 he requested for out of the 11 million Naira her late sister willed to her.
The suspect who allegedly axed his mother to death at her home at United Estate in Sangotedo area of Ajah Lagos before fleeing however changed the story after his arrest.
The suspect told police he went for 21 days prayer and fasting and it was revealed to him that his mother was a witch behind his failure in life.
His younger brother, Tunde Ayoola reported the matter to the police before he was apprehended.
He denied the witchcraft allegation put forward by his brother.
Lagos State Police spokeswoman Dolapo Badmos said Oluwaseye Ayoola is being investigated.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to the morgue.

UBA Banker Who Attacked Police DPO Uniform In Marina Lagos Charged
A staff of the United Bank for Africa, 28-year-old Adaobi Obi has been charged for assaulting a police DPO on duty.
The attack reportedly happened around 6pm on January 27 at UBA headquarters in Marina on Lagos Island.
Obi was accused of tearing DPO Sina Olunlade after he prevented her from driving in an area because an electric pole fell on the road after a heavy rainfall.
The DPO on duty ordered motorists to take a safer route for their own safety but the accused refused because the route is closer to her home.
She was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 today after she pleaded not guilty to the assault.
Obi is to appear in court on the 28th of February for hearing.
