Cheating, although enjoyable by the person doing it initially, it gets to a point they start realizing that it was never even worth it.
Hence the regret that followers. I tend to think that serial cheaters are people who should not be in relationships. If you are dating one, then you are wasting your time, they will not change.
On the other hand, there is the other one that is full of regret and it is because, once you cheat, you realize a couple of things in the aftermath.
It causes emotional distress FOR YOU
For your partner, when they eventually find out obviously. But the person who was cheating, from panic attacks and worry and trying to keep up- you just never realized it. You are always getting spooked when your phone rings around your partner. You are always worrying what will happen when they eventually find out and you do not want to lose them. Trying to remember if you deleted a certain text when they borrow your phone. Worrying about sending them your ‘partner in cheat’s’ text and getting a blow up. Tell me that is not stressful.
Worrying about communicable diseases
You even have to ask the doctor twice if they are sure when they say they haven’t found anything. When you get a rash, you worry you now have AIDS. When you get headache you worry you have chlamydia. When your cough does not feel right or you get a cold and those funny blisters appear on your lips, ‘Oh, my God. Do I have herpes?’
When you have to tell your partner you might have given them something
The stress- that is how some people got high blood pressure, from cheating! The person you are cheating with might be circulating while you think they are not. Then they tell you they gave you something and you still had relations with your partner. Now you have to tell them you have syphilis!
